error in task file

Description

I've just loaded XCSoar and when I try and run "SIM" the Load Task window
opens with an error message in that says "Error in task file" if I click "OK"
this window disapears and I'm left with a screen with boxes along the top for
Next, Fin Dis, H GPS, % Climb and alon the bottom MACCready, V MC, V GND, Wind

  1. There's a small glider in plan view at the 6 o'clock posistion and a front

fiew in the bottom RH Corner. There appears to be no maps, terrain or
topology loaded ie the scree is empty

This is normal. When you first install XCSoar you will need to go into the
configuration (menu CONFIG -> Setup System) to point it to the terrain files etc.
