Install Upgrade
From XCSoar
Use the Install notes and Download/Program to download and install the version 5.0 to upgrade from any 4.x system.
Manual Changes
XCSoar 5 requires that all data be in the "My Documents/XCSoar Data" directory in either the main memory or flash card. As such you may need to move some of your content to that directory.
Using File Manager in Pocket PC or using File Manager on your Desktop/Laptop via ActiveSync you are able to move the Polar, Airfield, Status and other data files into the XCSoar Data directory.
Configuration Changes
The main changes you need to do immediately are:
- Double click on a clear background to bring up the menu
- Using screen buttons, click on Menu
- Click on Config until you see System Setup
- Click on System Setup
- Scroll through pages and clear the Status and Input data files - if you are using old ones.
Alternatively you can remove the files (rename with File Manager) from the XCSoar Data directory.
Then go carefully through the configuration pages. Note you can still use the status and input files, but you may need to change them slightly.
