Faq:Data

[edit]
What are the data locations for XCSoar 5.0?
XCSoar 4.5+ allowed files to be anywhere on the PocketPC. This caused major performance issues and made it difficult to select specific files (many of the standard file formats use common extensions such as .TXT).
For XCSoar 5.0 onwards, data must be stored in either of two locations:
- /My Documents/XCSoarData/
- /Storage Card/XCSoarData/
Subdirectories are also acceptable, eg:
- /Storage Card/XCSoarData/UK/
[edit]
Exceptions
On some versions of Windows CE or Windows Mobile the XCSoarData directory must be placed in a 'My Documents' directory on the storage card, hence:
- /Storage Card/My Documents/XCSoarData
On some systems the path of the storage card may differ. For example, the HP iPAQ H2210 has two storage card paths:
- /CF Card/XCSoarData/
- /SD Card/XCSoarData/
(Both can be used.)
